Glenwood Springs Rotarian Jim Ingraham has received a Paul Harris Society chevron in recognition of his continued commitment to The Rotary Foundation.

Although the chevron is small, it represents something significant: Jim’s ongoing generosity and belief in Rotary’s ability to create meaningful, lasting change. Contributions to The Rotary Foundation support projects that strengthen communities, expand opportunities, respond to disasters, fight polio and address pressing needs close to home and around the world.

“Your generosity helps Rotary turn good intentions into meaningful action,” District 5470 Rotary Foundation Chair Maile Foster wrote in presenting the recognition. “Please add this chevron to your Paul Harris Society pin and wear it with pride.”

The Paul Harris Society recognizes Rotary members and friends who intend to contribute at least $1,000 each Rotary year to eligible Rotary Foundation funds and programs. These may include the Annual Fund, PolioPlus, Rotary’s areas of focus, disaster response efforts and approved global grants.

A Paul Harris Society member differs from a Paul Harris Fellow. Paul Harris Fellow recognition is awarded when an individual’s cumulative giving reaches $1,000—or when another person uses Foundation recognition points to honor them. Paul Harris Society members make an ongoing commitment to contribute at least $1,000 each year.

Members may fulfill that commitment through a single gift or through several smaller contributions during the year. Many choose Rotary Direct, Rotary’s recurring-giving program, to make regular contributions automatically.

Jim’s chevron recognizes more than a financial contribution. It represents his continued confidence in Rotary’s mission and his willingness to help transform compassion into action.
