Whether you are a new member still discovering the world of Rotary, a longtime Rotarian preparing for a leadership position or simply someone who wants to make your club stronger, Rotary’s Learning Center has resources designed for you.

Available through My Rotary, the Learning Center offers online courses and learning plans that members can complete at their own pace. The courses are included as a benefit of Rotary membership and can be accessed whenever your schedule allows.

What Can You Learn?

The Learning Center includes courses covering nearly every aspect of Rotary. Topics include:

  • Rotary basics: Learn about Rotary’s history, values, structure, programs and areas of focus.

  • Club leadership: Prepare for responsibilities as a club president, secretary, treasurer, committee chair or other club leader.

  • Membership: Explore strategies for attracting new members, improving the member experience, engaging participants and creating a more welcoming club.

  • Public image and communications: Learn how to tell your club’s story, work with the media, use Rotary’s brand correctly and strengthen your social media presence.

  • The Rotary Foundation: Build your understanding of Foundation giving, PolioPlus, district grants, global grants and other Rotary Foundation programs.

  • Service projects: Find guidance for assessing community needs, planning sustainable projects, measuring results and increasing your club’s impact.

  • Youth programs: Learn more about Interact, Rotary Youth Exchange, Rotary Youth Leadership Awards and the responsibilities involved in protecting young participants.

  • Diversity, equity and inclusion: Discover ways to build a club culture in which people from different backgrounds feel respected, valued and included.

  • Leadership and professional development: Strengthen practical skills such as communication, collaboration, mentoring, conflict management, facilitation and leading change.

Courses and learning plans are also available for specific district and club positions, helping incoming leaders understand their responsibilities before their terms begin.

Why Use the Learning Center?

Rotary offers extraordinary opportunities, but it can take time to understand its programs, terminology and resources. The Learning Center allows members to gain that knowledge without waiting for a district training event or trying to learn everything while already serving in a leadership role.

It is available around the clock, so you can complete a course when it is convenient for you. Some courses take only a short amount of time, while broader learning plans allow you to explore a topic in greater depth.

The Learning Center can also help clubs build continuity. When several members understand membership, grants, public image, leadership and club operations, important knowledge does not rest with just one person. Clubs become better prepared for leadership transitions and more capable of turning good ideas into successful projects.

Most importantly, the Learning Center helps members connect what they are doing locally with the larger purpose and possibilities of Rotary. A little more knowledge can lead to better decisions, stronger clubs and greater impact.
