District 5470 has played an important role in building support for global malaria eradication programs over the past six to seven years. Through the dedication and generosity of Rotarians, the District has helped bring greater awareness, funding, and action to one of the world’s most devastating diseases. The Aspen Rotary Global Grant was supported by 43 clubs in our district.

As Chair of Rotarians Against Malaria–Global Rotary Action Group, now a member of Carbondale Rotary, I am proud to recognize District 5470’s leadership and commitment. Together, we are demonstrating how Rotary can bring people, resources, and partnerships together to save lives and move us closer to a world without malaria.

Our "Barcelona plan" is to sponsor a one-day conference called Malaria Impact Summit. This is a fabulous opportunity to learn about malaria and how your club can participate in this service-above-self activity. We have a website at RAMSUMMIT.org where you can learn more. Consider joining us the day before the Rotary International Annual Meeting starts; June 25th, 2027.
